LAWRENCEBURG, Ind. — An assistant fire chief died Tuesday morning after suffering a fatal heart attack hours after returning home from an emergency response.
Firefighter Close Calls reported that Assistant Chief Tom Stevens, Sr., 59, with the Bright Volunteer Fire Company, died after returning from a carbon monoxide alarm activation call. The fire department serves the Lawrenceburg area in southeast Indiana.
Chief Stevens leaves behind his wife, Debbie, an EMT, and sons Tom, Jr., a firefighter, and Michael, according to the report.
Visitation will be Thursday from 1-5 p.m. and the funeral will take place at 5 p.m. at the Bright Christian Church on 24457 State Line Road in Lawrenceburg, Ind.
