MASHPEE, Mass. — Tom Rullo is expected to be named the town’s fire chief Monday after serving on an interim basis for the past six months.

Town Manager Joyce Mason said she would formally recommend Rullo to the Board of Selectmen at Monday’s meeting. If his appointment is approved, Rullo will be sworn in that night.

Rullo has been interim chief since George Baker retired in September. The search was put on hold while Mason was working on the town’s budget and capital improvement planning processes.

Rullo was unavailable for comment Friday.

The Board of Selectmen’s meeting is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. in the Waquoit Meeting Room at Town Hall, 16 Great Neck Road North.
