CASCADE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A fire chief and deputy chief have been placed on administrative leave over their handling of two firefighters who were charged for alleged sexual relations with a teenager.
MLive.com reported that two firefighters were charged earlier this year on counts of child sexually abusive activity and using a computer to commit a crime.
Investigators allege that both firefighters were involved in relationships with a 16-year-old who was part of the department's explorer program.
Chief John Sigg is on paid administrative leave and Deputy Chief John Shipley is on unpaid leave.
Officials did not say how long Sigg and Shipley would be on leave.
