Md. FF falls out of engine en route to call

The Prince George's County Fire Department is conducting a safety investigation and a mechanical evaluation of the engine after the incident

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. — A Maryland firefighter was injured Tuesday after falling out of an engine that was en route to a call. 

Officials say the Prince George's County firefighter fell out of an apparatus he was attached to, according to WUSA9. The incident occurred near an intersection at about 4:30 p.m. 

The firefighter was transported to the hospital with injuries; the exact nature of his injuries was not reported. 

The Prince George's County Fire Department said in tweet that firefighters were responding to a report of a house fire when the incident occurred. Officials said a safety investigation is underway, and that the engine, Engine 818, will be transported to the department's apparatus maintenance facility for a full mechanical evaluation.
