NEW YORK — Seven FDNY firefighters were injured battling a three-alarm incendiary fire at a warehouse Wednesday.

Officials said the roof of the structure partially collapsed, causing four or five out of seven propane tanks that were on the roof to fall into the building, according to the Bronx Times. Firefighters proceeded with an exterior attack due to the hazards inside.

The FDNY reported in a tweet Wednesday night that six firefighters were transported with injuries that were not life-threatening. News 12 reports that a total of seven firefighters were transported to the hospital.

FDNY Fire Marshals determined the fire was incendiary in nature, caused by the illegal use of a torch on a combustible roof. Amar Faruq, 36, was arrested in connection with the blaze, the department reported.
