CHICO, Calif. - The 2012 Coats For Kids program will be kicked off with a special media event held indoors at the Boys and Girls Club Gym, on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at 3:45 p.m. The Chico Boys and Girls Club gym is located at 601 Wall Street, on the west side of their property.

Children from the Boys and Girls Club will be creating hand decorated Coat Barrels during today’s Kick Off event. The Coats For Kids Program will have coat donation barrels set up at participating schools, businesses and at all six City of Chico Fire Stations this week. The public can begin dropping off new or clean, gently used coats, jackets and sweatshirts at donation barrel sites starting today. A variety of sizes of new or gently used coats and jackets are needed that range from infant sizes through adult XXL. It is requested that all donated coats be laundered prior to donation. Coats are given out to kids that range from babies to 17 years of age. Donation barrel locations can be found at  www.1035theblaze.com.

The Coats For Kids Program is hosted by the City of Chico Fire Department, the Blaze Hit Country 103.5 and Walmart.
