1. Where did your company name originate from?
Our company is named after the founder's initials and the town they grew up in.
2. What was the inspiration behind starting your company?
Our co-founders found a need for customizable, high-end customer-focused software on the fire and EMS industry.
3. What is your signature product and how does it work?
FireWorks, a complete records management solution for fire and EMS agencies. Our all-in-one software includes inspection, property, and hydrant databases, ePCR, LMS, community portal software, and staffing management.
4. Why do you believe your products are essential to your vertical (Police, Fire, EMS, Corrections, Government) community?
EPR’s philosophy is that the data collected in the system should serve your needs, enabling you to make informed decisions. Our specialty is analyzing the specific needs of each customer, allowing full customization, and providing high-quality service. Our platform includes a complete suite of modules with built-in workflows that enables you to manage all the needs of your department in one holistic system.
5. What makes your company unique?
We offer an extensive training and support plan for our customers. We know that learning a new RMS platform – or any software/tool for that matter – adds a layer of complexity to an already complex and stressful role as a responder. EPR provides on-site, in-person training for each department. All our instructors are either current or retired fire safety officials so we understand what good software can do for a department and how important it is for saving lives.
6. What do your customers like best about you and your products?
Our customer service – we are constantly being told how great our customer service is by our customers. We genuinely care about the people who use our software and make an effort to understand their needs so that we can continuously improve. We are available 24/7 for our customers.
7. What is the most rewarding part of serving the first responder/local government community?
A majority of employees at EPR are retired or current fire and EMS officials. The most rewarding part is seeing how our products help our local departments as well as departments across the U.S. Our teams see firsthand how impactful FireWorks is for communities and we will always be available for departments wanting a customer-focused, customizable option.
8. What’s next for your company? Any upcoming new projects or initiatives?
We are working on a community portal called CommunityWorks that will directly connect fire safety officials and their communities. The portal will allow fire departments to post safety notices, announcements, and inspection reminders. Community Users will be able to add information about their properties or businesses that will help in the case of an emergency like occupants, disabilities, medical issues, pets or hazards.
