Pa. aerial tower flying American flag overturns onto roadway
The apparatus crashed onto Route 611 where it struck a vehicle
BUCKS COUNTY, Pa. – An aerial tower collapsed Monday morning in Plumstead Township in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
Officials said the Plumsteadville Volunteer Fire Department aerial was positioned outside the fire company to display the American flag over Route 611 for Memorial Day.
FirefighterCloseCalls.com reported that a fire run was dispatched, and while retracting the ladder, there was a failure of some kind. And ABC6 reported that when firefighters repositioned the truck, it flipped over, crashing onto Route 611 where it struck a vehicle.
Police indicated there were minor injuries.
Route 611 was temporarily closed after the incident.
