Viking launches new Viking Macs fire suit

The fire suit is designed to protect firefighters from exposure to carcinogens

Viking introduced a new fire suit with a detachable outer shell, designed to protect firefighters from exposure to carcinogens and other dangerous particles that are found on fire suits and can contaminate a fire truck.

Viking Macs features an outer shell that can be removed after attending a fire, leaving the inner liner to be worn during the return to the firehouse. Before getting into the fire truck, the outer shell should be placed in a dissolvable washing bag, so that the particles are less likely to transfer to the firehouse.

The new fire suit can be personalized with a military-inspired system of webbed loops that can be used to attach modular pouches, pockets or other equipment. The suit also features pre-bent elbows and knees, detachable internal kneepads, removable under-boot straps and is reinforced with DuPont Kevlar in shoulders, elbows, knees, pockets and cuffs.
