Mark the mid-point of the ladder

Due to limited manpower, a firefighter may be tasked with laddering a window or providing access to a roof area for fireground operations.

To help with pulling the ladder off the truck, marking the mid-point of the ladder will alleviate the ladder from bouncing off the ground. The firefighter can then look for the mid-point marking when pulling the ladder off and avoid bouncing.
