Roof hooks out

When using a roof ladder for vertical ventilation operations, always deploy the roof hooks before ascending up the ladder. Make sure that the hooks are facing away from you.

You do not want two sharp prongs poking you in the face or head when trying to climb a ladder while holding a roof ladder on your shoulder.
