Gary DeCosse Rejoins Road Rescue as President
In his new role, DeCosse will lead the day-to-day manufacturing operations of the Marion, S.C.-based manufacturer of custom ambulances and specialty vehicles, which is a subsidiary of Spartan Motors, Inc. (Nasdaq: SPAR). He succeeds Randy Knors, who has served as president of Road Rescue for more than two years.
DeCosse brings more than two decades of ambulance expertise to his new position, including 24 years of engineering, design, sales and marketing experience at Road Rescue. During his initial tenure with Road Rescue, he worked in all aspects of the Company and received two patents for product innovations he developed for interior lighting and cabinetry.
Gary has intimate knowledge of Road Rescue, its customers and the ambulance industry as a whole, said John Sztykiel, CEO of Spartan Motors. Perhaps just as importantly, he has a proven track record in this industry and regularly delivers results. We feel that Gary can provide the institutional knowledge, strategic direction and market savvy needed to better position Road Rescue for growth.
We are very pleased that Gary has returned to Road Rescue, and we look forward to tapping into his leadership and guidance.
DeCosse began his career as a design engineer for Road Rescue before moving into positions of increased responsibility in sales, marketing and research and development. He spent eight years with the Company before joining Leader Industries, which is a sister company to Horton and AEV.
DeCosse initially served as director of operations for Leader, where he was heavily involved in engineering, marketing, manufacturing and special projects. Most recently, he has served as a vice president with overall responsibility for day-to-day operations, including sales, purchasing and engineering.
He has served as a member of the technical committee of the Ambulance Manufacturers Division of the National Truck and Equipment Association. A native of Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minn., DeCosse holds a degree from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design.
