Santa Fe Type III Wildland Pumper Walk-Around
The Santa Fe Fire Department’s Type III Wildland Pumper is built on a strong SVI-built aluminum body, mounted on a Freightliner 108SD 4X4 chassis and packs a Cummins L9 380-horsepower engine. Santa Fe chose the 108SD to give the truck a larger 500-gal. water tank capacity with Waterous CPK 500 GPM two-stage fire pump, a Foam Pro 1600 foam system and a 20-gal. foam cell. The truck was designed to protect the city of Santa Fe, as well as surrounding wildland areas. This engine includes a number of pump-and-roll configurations, like an auxiliary pump and a rear hose reel that is functional when the compartment doors are closed. For out-of-state deployment, a rear-cab electronic cooler keeps food and drinks cool for the crew. For specs, drawings and photos, visit svitrucks.com/portfolio-items/santa-fe-fire-department-1052/.
