Dallas firefighters find body while training

Dallas Fire-Rescue was conducting a training exercise near the Trinity River when they noticed the body floating in the water nearby

A man was found dead in the Trinity River Sunday afternoon near Riverwood overlook at the southern tip of the McCommas Bluff Preserve in southeast Dallas.

Dallas Fire-Rescue was conducting a training exercise at 1200 Riverwood Road when they noticed the body floating in the water nearby, police spokeswoman Melinda Gutierrez said. 

They called Dallas police for assistance around 3:30.

The victim has not yet been identified.
