Lightning does strike twice: We need to prepare for MCIs!
What to do when the training chief blows off your idea for enhanced MCI training following a major incident
In this episode of "What's YOUR Problem?" Chief Goldfeder addresses this reader question:
We had a serious incident at our department recently that impacted many of our members and the community. I spoke to the training chief afterward, suggesting that we add some drills to cover this type of MCI so we are better prepared in the future, but he kinda dismissed me, saying that it likely wouldn’t happen again. How do I get him to understand that MCI training covers many types of incidents – and clearly if this incident happened once, it can happen again?”
